A whole bunch of RANDOM

I rotated my pictures in the folders but it didn't work here and I'm too tired to go back and fix them... I was journaling tonight and thought I would do a bit of catch up on here and post some pictures people were asking about. I love this picture of my nephew, Tevi. I hope it was
his sister he learned this cute pose from... the arms and hips
in perfect position and that pointed toe.
My friend, Emily, came down for a visit and promised Max a ride in
her Tacoma. Brig reminds Max that this was the same
truck he had when he met Mama - and then gave it up for a family! Most of the time,
he would say it was a pretty good trade although he misses his truck.
Nothing like a Toyota Tacoma.
It's hard to catch a smile on this girl, but this day I managed!

My sister, Jewls and her friend, Jordan along with my mom came
for a visit in August before school started. We showed them hillbillies
what kids from a big city do... Jordan was a pro! I'm surprised
that Jewls was still on this far down the hill.

Cute Little Grandma (with Lindsee in the background with
Max's cowboy hat and Jewls making one of her pretty faces)

Avalon likes to be awake while Max sleeps because then she
can play with all of his toys that he never lets her touch. She is
now standing up and walking along the furniture. Our fireplace has
cost her a few black eyes already.

Brig and I went to SLC for a formal law dinner. We heard
the Chief Justice speak and enjoyed a very yummy meal at
Little America. We enjoyed one last summer get-away at the Jack
Johnson concert in SLC as well.
Corde and Heidi came for FHE one Monday and Brig and Max did
an excellent reenactment of Nephi and Laban, until little Nephi
got scared of Laban and ran away before finishing the scene.

Little Linebacker Max with a helmet that fits, might never
happen again so we had to get a picture!

Back in March, I decided I wanted to run a half-marathon and got
my sister, Josie on board with me. We ran down the Provo
Canyon, which sure made our times faster than expected!
I hurt for the next several days but it wasn't bad enough to stop
me. We will be doing our second one at the end of October.
Thanks Grandma Gilbert, Little Grandma, Jewls, and my fam for
cheering us on at the finish line.

Aunt Camie and Uncle Tommy came for a visit in July.
Avie was content enough to pop her thumb in, which she only
does when she is really calm and really tired.
They even put the busters to bed for us!

This is Camie and Tommy's dog, G-G Bear. Max has been
obsessed with G ever since Camie started showing him
pictures. Just too precious for words.

Avalon and her cousin, Rustin. I need to work with Avalon
on how to make a friend. These faces just aren't going to
cut it for long. One day, they'll really like each other.

While visiting my sister, Chelsie, in Kentucky, we took a little one day trip without
the kids to Lexington. We were able to watch the World Cup final, visit the Kentucky
Horse Park, eat awesome Indian food, walk through the UK gardens, and see the Rupp Arena.
It is a beautiful city just as you imagine it - horse farms everywhere with white picket fences.

This picture is for my dad. He'll appreciate it. It is Funny Cide, the stallion that
won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in 2003. It was interesting to
see horse heroes on display in the park. Kinda sad, millionaires who don't get
a lick of the money and basically go behind bars for being so famous.

These are soem of Max's old friends from Lawton, whom he still
talks about and misses. Such a cute bunch of rugrats.

Brig's last day in uniform. So far, he has only had one day in law school where he has said to me, "I wish I was back in the Army." It was good to us, but we are also happy that it is over. I love his longer hair and seeing him in normal clothes. We are enjoying the change of pace in the civilian world. Most of Brig's buddies are deploying again this month and we are grateful that it isn't us... we were just too sissy. I can't imagine doing it again.

We continue to remember the servicemen and their families in our prayers.
