Si Guy

Si Guy, as Max likes to call Silas, is over 2 weeks old. We had a little scare with him that caused a 3 day hospital stay, but he is doing well. He has a heart condition called SVT and has to be on heart meds because his heart has an accessory pathway and at any given moment, his heart can get out of rhythm and beat 2 times faster than it should. When Brig took him to the doctor at a week old, they found it was beating incredibly fast and he was rushed to the ER. Luckily, structurally his heart is perfect - just has this electrical glitch. Now, when we say bless his little heart... it means a bit more! We were grateful for the prayers and support during this time. He has had a rough start, but is quite the fighter. Here are just some more recent pictures of him.

Silas Mons Udall

I really appreciate all the blogging Shayla does, because this takes some effort. So, in lieu of being creative I will just post some pics since that is the purpose of my blogging tonight. Enjoy.

Silas was 8.2 lbs and 19.5 in. We are really happy to have him, and Max and Peanut adore their little brother.

Dog Days of Summer? No way!

With school on the horizon (law school for Brig, preschool for Shay and the kids), we've really tried to squeeze the most out of the last few weeks of summer. Grilling, gardening, swimming, ice cream, reading, movies, walks, playground trips, baseball games, and so on. With Baby #3's pending arrival, we also tried to focus on cherishing our time with Max and Avalon. Here are some random photos and then I'll post about the new arrival.

Max on the bus with dad for an excursion to SLC. Do you think he had fun?
Last lunch as just the two of them.
I also took them to McD's after Silas was born. Here are some pics of Peanut...just because I can't get enough of her.

Shay the night before having her third baby. She is amazing in every way and makes my life awesome. Next up, baby stuff.
