The Random

March Madness is underway and we've watched more
games than usual because the boys have been under
the weather with RSV. Max has actually been worse
than Silas and he has been doing all the home treatments
just so we don't have to chalk up another hospital bill. Brig
considers it a blessing (not because of the extra basketball
games we can watch) because we remember what really
matters and life is simple when you just have to take
care of sick kids. Life has shut down for a few days and we
have been snuggling with our ballies. Max has been especially
sweet, just smiling and shrugging his shoulders through
all his meds, breathing treatments, and barfing. Today
we knew he was feeling better because he started
teasing Peanut again and making her scream. It had been
so quiet in the house. Last week, we made it to the
park a few times and Aunt Josie came out for a quick
visit, which was too short but very nice. She showed us
the equinox broom trick and the kids thought it was pretty
sweet. One picture shows Brig at the dinner table. He made
one of his favorite Japanese dishes called Chicken Katsu.
It was so yummy. It was complete with rice, a vinegar cucumber
cold noodle salad and the special sauce. I love it when he
cooks - it's always such a treat to enjoy something so delicious.

7 Months! It's hard to catch him on camera NOT smiling.

Our M&M Date

A few weeks ago, Max and I went on a date. We called it our M&M date for Max
and Mom. It was so much fun to be just him and me. Our treats were M&Ms, and he even
brought some back home for Peanut. I loved just watching him in the car and cart and kissing him. He has always been so grateful and kind. He reminds me to be nice and patient. I got him a Batman toy and was reminded about the scripture in Matthew 7, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" I am not always a good parent but I can give a good gift.... God has given us several good things, and one of our greatest gifts is little Max!

Max's Kitchen Wall

Max has become quite the little artist. We have decked out our kitchen
wall with all of his projects. He has started doing some water color and painting.

Happy Birthday, Max!

We celebrated his birthday yesterday. He had waited and waited
to be 4 like so many of his best buddies but he also told me that he
will quit growing now and next year, instead of turning 5 he will turn
3 again. This gives me some hope that I can keep them small.

Tradition has become a McDonald's Happy Meal and a special
cake made by Dad. He asked for his black SpiderMan cake long
ago. Brig was shocked to find cakes out there that were black
SpiderMan. It made for easy frosting, but messy stained
faces. We love our sweet Max. I have some more photos of
him to come.

Have you been bamboozled lately?

These kids got it good from Grandpa Barry.
He even took a nap with Max to kiss him while he slept.
We went to Yogurtland and enjoyed watching Grandpa Barry
taste test with several sample cups.
