WINTER WALLOP 2010

We are learning the importance of "Emergency Preparedness" around here.
We were without power for a few days, but several of our friends still
don't have it. Needless to say, we feel blessed. This is the street just .5 miles
down the road. Some crazy people were actually driving under all of that mess! We stayed in
a hotel in Wichita Falls, TX for a few nights until our power was restored.
The latest - our water supply is at 25% because the generator busted and they can't get a part until tomorrow. They are saying we should only use water for cooking and toilets... not a good mix! By 8:00, we aren't suppose to have any water (which is so ironic considering all the puddles we have outside). Makes you really think about all of the little things we take for granted. Apparently, power lines are stronger than the poles.
Here, you see a whole tree up-rooted...

This must have been what they used for barbed-wire during the Ice Age.

We had to drive across our lawn to get out because this branch covered
our drive-way. When we returned from TX, our neighbor had finished cutting it off and moved it out of the way. There are a lot more good people than bad.

There isn't much left of the tree in the front of our house.

Grandpa Barry, you could get all the firewood you need right here in Lawton!

seriously I can't imagine the wind strong enough to do that - our 60mph winds don't do that! love the fence!

Yowza! Glad you guys are home at least. Three nights in a hotel . . . fun times. Do you have water now?
