Baby Moon

Brig and I decided to take one more trip as just the two of us. Brig called it our "Baby Moon." San Antonio is the perfect place for any kind of moon. (We honeymooned in Colorado, then honeymooned again in Germany, and have since been to Utah twice! We love vacations!) We spent one whole afternoon at the zoo. This little Gibbon was Brig's favorite. Brig got him to sing. He would start making sounds, and the monkey would imitate him and they could be heard throughout the whole city! Brig is still walking around the house making these strange sounds. The only disappointment... lazy hippos!
We found this little Mexican ice cream shop, and went every day to try different things. Their Aguas Frescas were the best. Brig was dying to slurp down this coconut one, while I made him pose. (Mama, you would have died.) It was sooooo good. Just today, we went to the Hispanic Flea Market in Oklahoma City to get our fix. We couldn't find the place and so I finally told Brig I would just ask some of the boys where we could get them. One guy looked at me all funny and asked the other what I said, he then said "Aquas Frescas" in his Spanish accent, and they were able to tell us where to find them. It makes me want to learn Spanish.

The Riverwalk is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We felt like we were in Europe, except that we ate REAL Mexican food. It was such great weather (in January) that we got a table outside right along the river. I kept throwing the chips off the side to feed the ducks. You can barely see the river glistening in the background...
This shows the river just a little bit better, along with a nice shot of my big belly. With less than a month to go, I'm still feeling really good. I have to kind of play it down though so that I get the 'treatment' from Brig!!! After we finished dinner, we listened to a street performer play the bagpipes. He made a good $20 in 15 minutes, most of the people just briskly walking by and throwing money at him... we had front row seats the whole time and got our money's worth. If Brig lived in a big city, he claims he would play the bagpipes on the street as well.

We spent the rest of our time in our hotel watching the debates, sports, and discovery channel. This is a treat in and of itself because we don't have a TV! We did do a little shopping at the Tanger outlet mall. We found Brig a pair of Gap jeans for $4.98, then decided to go back and get another one. That good deal was worth the outlet shopping. We used every minute, arriving home at midnight before the next work week.

Riddle of the Week

Hey everyone, here is a riddle that just drove me nuts for hours. See if you can figure it out...

What lives in water, is cooked in an oven, can be carried in the mouth of a white bird, and is in the world but isn't in the world?

Hint: Read earlier posts to find the answer...

Cartoon of the Week

Doesn't this cartoon just crack you up?

Interesting Story

This was allegedly reported on the local news wire in a town somewhere in Utah. Here's the story.

A city councilman, Mark Easton, lives in a nice neighborhood. He had a beautiful view of the East Mountains, until a newneighbor purchased the lot below his house and built. Apparently, his neighbor's new home was 18 inches higher than the ordinances would allow, so Mark Easton, mad about his lost view, went to the city to make sure they enforced the lower roof line ordinance. Mark and his new neighbor had some great arguments about this as you can imagine - not great feelings. The new neighbor had to drop the roof line - no doubt at great expense. Recently, Mark Easton called the city and informed them that his new neighbor was installing some vents on the side of his home. Mark didn't like the look of these vents and asked the city to investigate. When the city went to view the neighbor's new vents from Mark's, this is what they found...
