Our Peanut turns ONE!

Yep, it's true. It hardly seems right since she is so dainty and small. She still has that baby face and stays little by just sitting and Army crawling. She is a content thumb-sucker but can fight and squawk when it comes to getting food and keeping her toy that Max doesn't think she should have. She knows how to find trouble but is so quiet about it. She is a mama's girl with smiles that are given out only when really deserved. We love little Avie. She is our R&R blessing! Happy Birthday, Peanut! We will be celebrating on Saturday.

Brig's First Day of School

We miss this kid already. We had our three month feast with Daddy-o here 24/7, now comes the famine. I am grateful because he still comes home at night. He fixed this old Cannondale up for his transportation... it takes him about 7 minutes to get to school and about 20 coming back due to our beautiful place at the base of the mountains. This morning was day 3 and he already wanted to stay in bed and skip class. I'm not very good at coming to and kicking him out... It will be a fun adventure for us.

More Pics from the Traveling Circus

Here we are at the Nation's Capitol for the 4th of July. What a celebration! Now that Brig has been to war, we will always be more patriotic. We are truly grateful for our freedoms (and grateful that part of our lives is over).

Stop 4 - Washington DC for the Skinner Reunion

My family reunion was on the opposite end of the earth. It took us about 5 days to travel from Cali to DC and props to the kids for not making us crazy! I might say that Brig's family reunion was much more structured than mine but both were awesome... We wanted to make shirts that said "The Skinner Traveling Circus - Summer 2010". The craziness started when my sister Morgan went to the airport to pick up my mom and after trying to meet up somewhere, found out that they were at two different airports. It was a circus for sure but we had an absolute blast. All 11 cousins were together. We toured the Pentagon, went to the zoo, visited Virginia Beach, celebrated the 4Th at the Capitol, and walked through Mount Vernon. Morgan and Tim put us up in their beautiful home. They were great hosts, even giving us their bed to bunk on princess mattresses under the dining room table!
Lucas, my dad, and those who married Skinner girls enjoyed a National's game. I asked Brig if they got any pictures and he showed me about 10 of the scoreboard and field, but not one single picture of them. I guess guys are just too cool for group photos.
Little Gma got her wish. Before going to the beach, we stopped to eat Krispy Kremes. This is my nephew, Bridger, sporting the cute hat.

Little Grandma herself with her very own box. Look at that cheesy grin, I think she'd take that over the lottery. You didn't really eat all 12, did you? Lucky for her, she hides her secret so well. I might have to post the picture of Tim and another Krispy Kreme freak.

Aunt Josie and Aunt Jewls with their box. I loved the little flags that lined the sidewalk.
